I could not find a way to add a picture of the involved people into the graph.

I am a user for 4 days and just starting with GenJ and GEDCOM, but I really like this program. The online help-wiki gives clear explanations of the GEDCOM data structure and how to use the program, which have been invaluable for a beginner. I learned not only about the program, but also about genealogy research. It addresses issues of data transfer and includes disclaimers for non-standard data tags. The program is robust and data entry is fast and efficient. I like the undo feature and the option for either GUI (graphical) data entry or direct editing of the GEDCOM database. Mistakes are easy to correct. The developer responded quickly to my beginner question. Very cool.

Biggest Pro: Robustness and efficiency
Biggest Con: Not much of a con, but must consult user’s manual - not everything is intuitive

Outstanding program. Does what most would want. No bugs apparent.
Offers views in table form and graphic form. Includes space to add notes about each individual
Only shortcomings -just to balance the review–and these are quite minor.
1. Does not permit second spouses to be added.
2. Initial learning not straight forward, but after some quick trial and error one learns the technique for adding and editing individuals.

Biggest Pro: Complete, bug free, easy to use after quick trial and error, and of course open source

A useful genealogy program with a good range of features. It works directly with Gedcom file format makig it a handy tool for looking inside these files. It produces some attractive charts which can be saved as postscipt files.

Biggest Pro: Works directly with the Gedcom file format.
Biggest Con: Requires Java and postscript.
