I love RootsFinder. I have been doing genealogy since the 1970s, and have used many different software options, but settled eventually on Brothers Keeper. My push in recent years is to completely digitize my files, attaching documents to my digital tree and eliminating the paper files. At the same time, I’m finally getting serious about proper source citations. And finally, I’m thinking of the time when I’m gone and other family members (near and distant) should carry on. RootsFinder seems to help with all of that. It handles media such as pictures and files very well, actually assists in creating source citations, and is incredibly shareable while making it so that only I can make changes to my tree. I’m not to the point yet of making it my primary genealogy software choice, but I can envision a future where I might.

Biggest Pro: Source citations and files
Biggest Con: New and lesser known at this point

I love using RootsFinder. I am new to genealogy and it’s extremely easy to use and not as intimidating as many of the other websites.
