I consider this program essential. I use the box charts for ancestors and descendants all the time. They are better than anything I have seen in any program.

By using PAF with PAF Companion with the register format, you can make a nice book. In MS Word or WordPerfect, it formats an index that lists women by both maiden and married names. It also puts birth and death dates with each entry (great when you have repeated names). Because it outputs to your own word processor, you can change formatting, fonts, add photos, get rid of excess white space, etc.

As I only purchased this recently, I am still learning the benefits of it (I hope). I do know that I am happy with what I have used so far but the big test will come when I do my annual family history CD for Christmas.

I used this program along with PAF to make a beautiful fan chart for our family reunion, because the program I had been using did not offer that type of chart.
It was easy to bring a gedcom into PAF and then to work with that file in PAF companion.
The finished product was great.
